<p>In the proposed hammer mill the mass of the disc is 30-50% of the combined mass of the disc plus the hammers, its diameter is 12-14 times the length of the hammer handles. At the same time, the length of the hammer heads is 2.5-3 times that of the hammer handles. The gap between the housing to the point of the hammers furthest from the axis of the disc is maximum 5%, preferably 2% of the inner diameter of the housing. The disc carries preferably 8 hammers. Their width is the same as the nominal internal width of the housing. Their operating surfaces are at an angle of 1-4 degrees, preferably 2 degrees, with the geometric axis of the hammer handle. The combined hammer mill/composter is provided with a throat, a counter-knife in the throat, a sieve-plate sunk into a groove, a composter disc connected to a drive unit and provided with cutter knives. The width of the hammer discs is equal to that of the composter disc. The cutting edge of the composter knives and the edges of the mill hammers are at an equal distance from the axis of rotation. The composter disc carries 3 cutter knives, at 120 degrees, each arranged at 10 degrees.</p> |
