The invention relates to medicine and can be used in the pharmaceutical and medical practice for obtaining disinfectant and bactericidal compounds. The process includes the oxidative modification of the starch taken in the form of an aqueous suspension with hydrogen peroxide in the mass ratio of the latter with respect to the starch equal to (1,0...6,0) : 50, at pH 4,0...6,5 and a temperature of 18...38 C during 20...40 min, then at a temperature of 94...98 C till the complete dissolution of the starch, after which the obtained solution is treated at a room temperature with the iodine aqueous solution in the potassium iodide resulting from the mass ratio iodine/starch (0,7...1,4) : 10.
