The cloakroom rack which is provided with hat and/or coat hook members (10, 11) is provided with a stable protective fascia panel (12) which has a window opening (13) opposite each hook. In this way the protruding hooks are prevented from causing injury and the window allows the user to see to hang up his coat on the hook behind the panel. The size of the window (13) preferably corresponds at least to the shape and size of the hook member (10, 11). The fascia panel (12) can be designed as a grid or mesh cover formed from longitudinal bars with rounded edges and the fascia panel if required can be fitted so that it lifts up and down to reveal the hooks.
