Method of two-dimensional imaging of structures for medical diagnosis

The method involves acquiring a first data set (Ix,y,z), to define voxel image values for the region of interest. A second data set (Fx,y,z) is created by filtering the first data set to emphasize the structure being studied. The voxels are projected to form a two-dimensional picture of pixels. At least one of the voxels is selected according to its image value in the second data set. A two-dimensional image is produced, where the image value for the pixels is derived from the selected voxels.
