<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a torque assist bicycle and its manufacturing method, which is excellent in the energy consuming efficiency, can actualize a lightweight frame, and excels in the design through simplification of the wirings and the configuration. SOLUTION: A battery-driven motor 3 is coupled with a wheel 2 integrally, which is given torque both from the motor 3 and a human power driving mechanism 5 either alternately or simultaneously, and the motor current is controlled on the basis of the size of the human torque sensed by a human torque sensing means 6. The motor 3 should be of direct coupled type with wheel, and its rotor 8 is formed in a single piece with the wheel 2 positioned on the inside of the wheel 2 while stator 9 is fixed to the body so that the peripheral surface confronts the inside surface of the rotor 8. In this torque assist bicycle, the wheel is driven directly by the motor 3 of outer rotor structure coupled directly to the wheel 2.</p> |
