PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit the deactivation of a catalyst due to the deposition of soluble org. components and to increase the purification rate by dividing an exhaust gas flowing part for allowing exhaust gas to flow and a gas flowing part for allowing a gas having an oxygen concn. higher than that of exhaust gas to flow with a gas permeable partition wall. SOLUTION: Silica, titanina, zirconia or the like is carried on the insides of may hollow cylindrical pipes by a washing coating method to form coating layers and a catalyst component is carried on the coating layers by adsorption, impregnation, ion exchange or other method to obtain the objective catalyst carrying carrying structure. In the structure, an exhaust gas flowing part for allowing exhaust gas to flow is separated from a gas flowing part for allowing a gas having an oxygen concn. higher than that of exhaust gas to flow by the wall of the pipes as partition wall. Since the deactivation of the catalyst due to the accumulation of soluble org. components can be inhibited, the purification rate of exhaust gas can be increased. |
