PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain a good connection between the driving gear on the turning gear side and the driven gear on the axle side even during the rotation rise process or immediately after the attainment of synchronous speed of the electric motor wherein the generation torque of the main ac motor fluctuates greatly. SOLUTION: An inverter control turning gear 31 rotatably drives an axle 15 to which a driven gear 17 is provided. In this cases, the turning gear is provided with an inverter control apparatus 33 which controls a driving gear 9 which drives the driven gear 17, a main ac motor 7 which drives the driving gear 9, and an input voltage and frequency applied to the main ac motor 7 such that the torque applied to the driving gear 9 is low during initial stage of starting and increases thereafter. |
