PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injector capable of easily discharging gas inside a common rail, by controlling a common rail pressure to a set pressure or more for a pressure control value arranged above the common rail in the first starting time after engine assembly. SOLUTION: A pressure control valve 32 regulating a maximum pressure of the common rail 5 is arranged above a common rail 5 mounted to a cylinder block 6 between left and right banks 2, 3. In the first starting time and the like after engine assembly, a pressure of the common rail 5 is controlled so as to exceed the maximum pressure decided by means of the pressure control valve 32. Gas such as air inside the common rail 5 is discharged through the opened pressure control valve 32 without requiring any special means, and at the same time, the gas is discharged easily and simply according to the common rail pressure control using the pressure control valve 32. |
