PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong the life of a filter by decreasing a pressure loss while an ion exchange capacity is increased by a method wherein an ion exchange resin particle having a specific particle size is bonded to a skeletal base material comprising a reticulated polyurethane foam having a large diameter interconnected pore. SOLUTION: A reticulated polyurethane foam has a mesh structure wherein many large diameter interconnected pores are provided, a wall parting the cells from each other is eliminated, and only an almost skeletal base material 2 is left. In such the reticulated polyurethane foam, the large diameter interconnected pore 1 is impregnated with a non-solvent based adhesive (a binder), and a state wherein the binder is supplied to almost all area of the skeletal base material 2 is formed. Then, the excess binder is removed. Thereafter, a particulate of an ion exchange resin having a particle size of 2% or over up to and including 50% of a pore diameter of the large diameter interconnected pore is supplied to the binder-applied reticulated polyurethane foam, they are uniformly bonded to each other, and an ion exchange filter of a large ion exchange capacity is obtained. |
