PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a ceramic with high dielectric constant and quality factor Q-value and excellent temperature stability, constituted of perovskite-type crystal with specified orientation degree determined by Lotgering method and specific crystal plane oriented. SOLUTION: This dielectric ceramic is such one as to be constituted of perovskite-type crystal with crystal orientation degree of >=50% determined by Lotgering method based on the X-ray diffraction pattern and a specific crystal plane is oriented. This ceramic, with the crystal azimuths being parallel with one another, has sight dielectric loss, high dielectric constant and large Q-value, and also affords temperature stability. It is preferable that the direction of crystal orientation axis coincide with that of the electric field of electromagnetic wave transmitting inside the crystal. This ceramic is obtained, for example, by the following process: lamellar or needle host particles 19 and 17 are mixed with other stocks and made into a tape form 18, which is then laminated or wound up, followed by pressure bonding and then baking, and the resultant crystal is oriented vertically, radially or concentrically. |
