PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic endoscope device capable of keeping the brightness of a picture image unchanged even if a light adjusting control means to which a priority is given actually is changed by means of the selection of the light adjusting control means. SOLUTION: The brightness of a picture image can be adjusted by a plurality of light adjusting control functions, namely, auto iris, element shutter, and light source adjusting light in a CCU 7 which signal-processes an output of a CCD 22 and displays a picture image on a monitor. Information obtained when each light adjusting control function used actually in a front panel SW part is selected is input into a priority order determining circuit determining priority order of these light adjusting control functions through a CPU. When light adjusting control is done using the light adjusting control function selected and used actually, the brightness of a picture image is kept unchanged at all times even if the light adjusting control function to which a priority is given actually is changed by changing a target value of light adjusting control of the light adjusting control function to which the highest priority order is given among the light adjusting control functions selected and used actually to a target value of the light adjusting control function to which the highest priority order is given and which is determined in the priority order determining circuit.
