PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high yield and a high reaction rate process for the production of a perfluoro(alkyl vinyl ether). SOLUTION: This process comprises reacting anα,β-dihaloperfluoroether with a zero valent zinc in a pyrrolidinone solvent, eliminating a halogen, preferably chlorine from the carbon atoms at theα- andβ-positions to an ether oxygen, further reacting CF2 ClCFClOCF2 CF2 SO2 F with the zero valent zinc in the presence of N methyl 2 pyrrolidinone and producing CF2 =CFOCF2 CF2 SO2 F from the CF2 ClCFClOCF2 CF2 SO2 F in high yield.
