<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new derivative consisting of a specific D- galactopyranosyl derivative having isothiocyanate group, and useful for a highly sensitive detection, etc., useful in qualitative and quantitative analyses, etc., of a very small amount of an optically active compound such as an amino acid, an amine, a thiol or the like. SOLUTION: The new D-galactopyranosyl derivative is expressed by formula I (X is naphthalimide or anthracimide), [e.g.; 6-deoxy-2,3,4-toly-0- acetyl-6-(naphthalene-2,3-dicarboximide)-D-galactopyranosyl isotiocyanante], and useful as a reagent for the isolation and analysis of D,L-forms of amino acids, a chiral amine, R,S-fomrs of thiolds, a fluorescent asymmetric derivative- forming reagent, etc. The compound is obtained by protecting hydroxyl groups at 1-4 positions ofα-D-galactose, converting the hydroxyl group at 6 position to amino group, then brominating the hydroxyl group at 1 position after protecting the amino group and changing the protecting groups of the hydroxyl groups to form a compound of formula II (Ac is acetyl) and then de-protecting after reacting with KNCS.</p> |
