COMPOSITE NONWOVEN FABRIC AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composite nonwoven fabric with excellent mechanical properties and dimensional stability while maintaining its flexibility and bulkiness by laminating a water-absorbing short fiber web on a web containing thermoadhesive short fiber a part of which has a thermoadhesive component followed by performing an interlaced unification treatment and thermofusing testament. SOLUTION: This composite nonwoven fabric as a spun lace nonwoven fabric is obtained by the following process: a synthetic short fiber web containing thermoadhesive short fiber having a theremoadhesive component on at least a part of the fiber surface is laminated on a water-absorbing short fiber web followed by subjecting the resultant laminate to interlaced unification treatment in a three-dimensional way such as high-pressure fluid jet treatment and then performing thermofusing treatment at such a temperature as to melt the thermoadhesie component but not to melt the other polymers to effect thermobonding of the fiber intersections.
