PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a product, such as a konjak (a paste made from the starch of the devil's tongue), having a stable quality by improving the working efficiency of a process for swelling refined devil's tongue powder with water and preventing the deterioration in the quality on the treatment of raw material. SOLUTION: In the process for swelling refined devil's tongue powder in water, the devil's tongue power is thermally treated at a temperature of 105-125 deg.C under a pressure of 1.19-2.32 kg/cm<2> to prepare the homogeneous refined devil's tongue solution having excellent production stability and good storability, and the prepared devil's tongue solution is stored. Thus, the workability for producing the devil's tongue, etc., is improved. If necessary, the devil's tongue solution is mixed with lime or other materials to prepare the konjak or its processed product having a stable quality. |
