<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit the occurrence of odor components and obtain a soil conditioner which is rich in useful components and does not emit a bad odor by adding water to an oil cake, leaving it standing at normal temp. for a specified term, adding a biopowder comprising aerobic microorganisms supported by a finely divided porous support to the resultant muddy liquid, and keeping the liquid at a temp. suitable for fermentation for a specified term while air blow is being continued. SOLUTION: Oil cake is mixed with water under stirring and is left standing at normal temp. for 3-8 months. A suitable amt. of a biopowder comprising a plurality of kinds of aerobic microorganisms supported by a finely divided porous support (e.g. zeolite or perlite) is added to the oil cake, which is then kept at a temp. suitable for fermentation, 30-40 deg.C, for 8-12 days. Aerobic microorganisms of the genera Streptomyces, Micrococcus, and Nitrobacter are suitable. The optimal amt. of water added to oil cake is 1,000 l based on 20 kg of oil cake.</p> |
