摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of switching elements used and attempt to minimize costs by driving a plurality of heaters incorporating one of a plurality of canisters arranged in parallel in the exhaust system, respectively, such that the canisters function as filters and control the flow of electricity to each heater according to the state of engine operation. SOLUTION: Two canisters 140, 142 are arranged in parallel in the pollutant reduction device provided in the exhaust system of an engine. An individual heater H (H1 through H5 ), H' (H'1 through H'5 ) is configured with each, respectively, with N diodes D (D1 through D5 ), D' (D'1 through D'5 ) provided with respect to each heater. In an electric control portion 120 that controls the flow of electricity to these canisters 140, 142, either the drive ON signal or the drive OFF signal is supplied to corresponding cathode switching elements C1 through C5 and corresponding anode switching elements A1 , A2 , in the inside heater drive portion 130, and automatically drives each heater H, H'.</p>
