PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain polyamide fibers having good adhesivity to EPDM used as a raw rubber for water system rubber hoses such as, especially, radiator hoses and heater hoses, having remarkably improved heat resistance in the rubbers, having excellent strength retention and durability and useful for reinforcing the rubbers. SOLUTION: The polyamide fibers for reinforcing rubbers are obtained by treating the surfaces of polyamide fibers with a first treating liquid containing a resorcinol-formaldehyde precondensate, a vinylpyridine-styrene-butadiene copolymer latex and a styrene-butadiene copolymer latex and substantially not containing a chlorine compound, and subsequently treating the pretreated polyamide fibers with a second treating liquid containing a resorcinol-formaldehyde precondensate, a vinylpyridine-styrene-butadiene copolymer latex, a polybutadiene latex and a chlorophenolic compound. |
