摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save time and effort involved in paper replacement, etc., prevent printing errors from occurring and avoid producing waste paper by executing design layout with an image layout processor on the basis of paper width information of a web detected with a paper width detector. SOLUTION: In an electronic printer, an image layout processor 9 that rotates bit map image data 3 and decides in which position in the width direction a design is to be placed is arranged in laser drawing devices 4a to 4d. A detector 6 that detects the width of a web 10 is installed at the entrance P of a paper feed section, a detection signal of the detector 6 is sent to the image layout processor 9 together with turnover information of a turnover device 7, that is, a command to instruct one-sided printing or two-sided printing to be run. The width W of the web 10 to be fed is detected with the detector 6, the paper width information is sent to the image layout processor 9, and the image layout processor 9 compares the paper width W of the web 10 and the size L of the long side of a design, the result of which is W>L.
