PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition which can give a melt having increased melt tension and therefore improved moldability by incorporating a specified amount of a PE resin with a specified amount of a poly-4-methylpentene-1 resin. SOLUTION: This composition comprises 80-99.9999 wt.% PE resin (e.g. high- density ethylene/butene-1 copolymer) and 20-0.0001 wt.% crystalline poly-4- methylpentene-1 desirably having a melt flow rate of 150 g/10 min or below as measured at 260 deg.C under a load of 5,000 g. Desirably, the mixture obtained by mixing the two components in this ratio is once melt-kneaded at a temperature higher than each of the melting points of the components, and the obtained melt is cooled to room temperature. The crystalline poly-4-methylpentene-1 resin can give a larger increment in the melt tension of a melt when it has a higher melting point, and, in view of this, it is desirably a homopolymer of 4-methylpentene-1. |
