PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an accuracy and reliability of detecting an ink non- discharge by controlling number of discharge dots in the case of detecting the ink non-discharge based on number of times of the ink discharges. SOLUTION: The recorder associated with a facsimile device comprises an ink jet recording head 117 for discharging an ink droplet to form an image, and an ink non-discharge detector 121 for detecting a residual amount of the ink in the head 117 by detecting the ink droplet discharged from the head 117. A recorder main controller 112 counts number of recording dots by the head 117, and notifies the counted result to a main unit main controller 101. The controller 101 decides whether the notified number of the dots exceeds a predetermined value or not. If it exceeds the predetermined number, the number of the dots from the head 117 at the time of executing the detector 121 is increased. |
