PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain in an easy operation, in high yield and in an industrially useful way, the subject acid as an important intermediate as a constituent of enkephalinase inhibitor, by using a specific optically active amine which is available in an industrially easy way as a resolution agent. SOLUTION: This acid is obtained by optical resolution of (A) (RS)-2 acethylthiomethyl-3-phenylpropionic acid, using (B) optically active cis-1-1 amino-2-indanol. It is preferable that the component B is (1R,2S)-(+)-cis-1- amino-2-indanol to produce the aimed (R)-2-acethylthiomethyl-3-phenylpropionic acid and that the objective compound includes an optically active 2- acethylthiomethyl-3-phenylpropione.cis-1-amino-2-indanol salt. |
