PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent pollution from being generated in discarding and to prevent adverse effect to lubricating oil. SOLUTION: A separating element 4 to be held in an oil separator of an oil-cooled compressor is wound and formed on a porous cylinder 13 by sequentially overlapping a cohesion layer protective film 10 formed of a metallic net, a cohesion layer 11 formed by laminating glass woven closer than the protective film, and an cohesion layer protective film 12 formed of a metallic net. The cohesion layer 11 is formed of a glass fiber having the diameter of about 1μm. A separating layer 14 formed of glass wool having the diameter larger than the coagulating layer, a wire mesh, non-woven fabric is attached inside the cylinder 13, a cylindrical expand metal 15 is attached inside the separating layer 14, and a bottom cover 16 is formed on the lower part of the separating element 4. Glass fiber, polypropylene, polyethylene, etc., are used for respective layers of the separating element 4 without using polyvinyl chloride.
