PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyether ester amide block copolymer containing an amino group, having high reactivity to a compound containing a carboxylic acid anhydride and an epoxy group-containing compound, etc., and to provide a simple method for producing the copolymer. SOLUTION: This copolymer is obtained by reacting (A) a polyether ester amide block copolymer having 0.5-20 mgKOH/g acid value with (B) a polyamine compound under reduced pressure. The component A comprises (a) a polyamide- forming component, (b) an aliphatic chain and/or aromatic ring-containing polyether diol having 200-3,000 number-average molecular weight or a mixture of the polyether diol and anα,ω-dihydroxy hydrocarbon having 200-3, 000 number average molecular weight and (c) a 6-44C dicarboxylic acid or diester.
