PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a liquid composition for ink jet, capable of providing a high quality image excellent in water resistance even if a regular paper is used, and further capable of providing high image density, and further to obtain an ink set for image formation, and to provide a method for image formation. SOLUTION: This ink set for image formation comprises an ink containing a coloring matter, a substantially colorless liquid composition containing an anionic metal oxide colloid, satisfying the relation of the formulas |A-B|<=5, 1<A< 10, 1<B<10 and C/A>5 [A (cP) is a viscosity of the ink containing the coloring matter; B (cP) is a viscosity of the substantially colorless liquid composition containing the anionic metal oxide colloid; C (cP) is a viscosity of a mixture obtained by mixing the ink containing the coloring matter with the substantially colorless liquid composition containing the anionic metal oxide colloid in the same amount]. The method for image formation comprises separately jetting the ink containing the coloring matter, and the substantially colorless liquid composition containing the anionic metal oxide colloid, and mixing the jetted ink and liquid composition to form an image on a material to be recorded. |
