HYDROFORMYLATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydroformylation process in which the catalyst based on nonionic charge ligand can be recovered almost perfectly. SOLUTION: The hydroformylation process comprises the following steps: the step (a) in which carbon monoxide, hydrogen gas and one or more kinds of ethylenically unsaturated compounds are brought into contact mutually in the reaction zone in the presence of a homogeneous catalyst based on a solvent and a metal in groups 8, 9 or 10 and a nonionic charge phosphorus ligand to form crude hydroformylation product; the step (b) in which a large part of the solvent in which an almost part of catalyst dissolves is separated and is recovered from the crude hydroformylation product in the phase separation zone; and the step (c) in which a non-aqueous extraction solvent is used to remove substantially all of the remaining catalyst dissolved in the formylation product obtained in the step (b).
