PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a foaming composition containing a stabilized chlorine dioxide solution which can generate chlorine dioxide gas and keep it in the foam. SOLUTION: This foaming composition is obtained by including a stabilized chlorine dioxide solution and a foaming agent. The stabilized chlorine dioxide solution mainly contains sodium chlorite or lithium chlorite. The foaming agent preferably consists of (1) surfactant I and a foam-stabilizing agent or (2) surfactant A, a foam-stabilizing agent, and a spouting agent. The foam-stabilizing agent is, for example, an anionic surfactant incorporated with monoethanolamine- or diethanolamine, a nonionic surfactant incorporated with a long-chain alcohol or alkylsulfoxide or a liquid paraffin. Surfactant I can be an anionic surfactant, a cationic surfactant, an amphoteric surfactant, and a nonionic surfactant. The spouting agent can be a high-pressure gas such as liquid petroleum gas and liquefied natural gas, or an organic compound having a low boiling temperature such as dimethyl ether. The foaming composition can contain citric acid to promote evolution of chlorine dioxide. |
