PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double deck elevator capable of dealing with a building having different floor heights without increasing a car weight or the rated value of a hoist or a main cable and without reducing a transporting capacity. SOLUTION: An adjusting sieve 4A is provided in the lower part of a machine bed 8 adjacently to the side of the axial direction of a deflector wheel 2 provided via a sieve support 25A, and this adjusting sieve 4A is supported by a sieve support 25B. A driving mechanism for driving the shaft of the adjusting sieve 4A in an upper/lower direction is provided in the bottom part of the sieve support 25B. A part of a main cable 3A wound on a hoist sieve 1 is drooped via the deflector wheel 2 to lock the upper part of a car frame in the lower end thereof. The other part of the main cable 3A is wound on the adjusting sieve 4A, and an upper car is suspended in the lower end thereof. For landing on a high floor, the adjusting sieve 4A is lowered to raise the upper car. |
