<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for readily purifying tall oil sterol in high purity at high recovery rate from tall oil neutral component. SOLUTION: A tall oil neutral component is brought into contact with at least one kind of solvent selected from methanol, water-containing methanol, water-containing ethanol and water-containing propanol at a temperature exceeding a boiling point in ordinary pressure of the solvent, and an insoluble matter insoluble in the solvent is separated from the resultant solution and tall oil sterol is crystallized and filtered from the residual solution.</p> |
