PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject catalytic component with high molecular weight, continually maintaining high activity levels, by stepwise reaction of a granular carrier with each of specific derivatives. SOLUTION: This catalytic component is obtained by the following steps: a granular carrier is reacted with a halogenated derivative of the formula R<1> M<1> X<2> 3 , (R<1> is a hydrocarbon radical; M<1> is silicon atom, germanium atom or the like; X<1> is a halogen) to obtain a solid S<1> , which is then reacted with a compound derived from the formula R<1> M<1> X<1> 3 , and capable of grafting at least one group having a cycloalkadienyl skeleton to the atom M<1> belonging to the group immobilized onto the carrier to obtain a solid S<2> , which is then reacted with a deprotonating agent of the formula R<2> M<2> X<2> n . (R<2> is H or a hydrocarbon; M<2> is lithium atom, sodium atom or the like; X<2> is a halogen; (n) is 0 or 1) to obtain a solid S<3> ; finally, the solid S<3> is reacted with a transition metal derivative of the formula R<3> y-z M<3> Xz (R<3> is a hydrocarbon radical; M<3> is a group 4-10 transition metal; X is a halogen; (y) is 3 or 4: (z) is 1 to (y)) to obtain the objective catalytic component. |
