PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject remedy useful for treating diseases caused by neuropathy e.g. Alzheimer's disease type dementia or nerve damages by injuries by including a prostaglandin having a specific structure as an active ingedient. SOLUTION: This agent comprises a prostaglandin and/or its optical isomers of formula I (R<1> e.g. is H or an 1-10C alkyl; R<2> is e.g. H or a methyl; R<3> is e.g. a normal or branched chain 3-10C alkyl or phenyl; (n) is 0 or 1; A is e.g. -CH=CH- or -O-CH2 ; X is e.g. -CH2 -CH2 - or -CH=CH-; the bond of formula His shown by a formula III or IV) as an active ingredient. A compound of formula I is exemplified by 9(O)-methano-Δ<6(9α)> -prostaglandin I1 (isocarbacycline). The agent is pref. used by e.g. an oral administration, dermal administration, intravenous administration, intraperitoneal administration, rectal administration or intraventricular administration. A therapeutic effective dose is pref. 0.01 to 10 mg/day/person. |
