PALM FIBER BOARD AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved palm fiber board which has good moisture permeability and high strength and exhibits only a small change in the length by water absorption. SOLUTION: A fiber mat containing Arabian palm fibers as a main component to which an amino resin (at least one selected from a urea resin, a melamine resin, a urea-melamine resin) or a curable resin of a phenol resin is adhered and compression-molded to form a fiber board. A sheet (glass cloth) of inorganic fibers of 0-10% (preferably 0-5%, more preferably 0-1%) water content in a normal state and of 20-600 GPa (preferably 30-500 GPa) Young's ratio is laminated on at least one side and/or in the inside of the fiber board.
