<p>PURPOSE:To reduce erroneous detection in the unit of image element by dividing an image into blocks with size decided in advance at the time of extracting the signal data of an image element as background data, and evaluating inter- frame correlation at every block including the image element. CONSTITUTION:Each frame of a series of inputted moving images is divided into the blocks with the size decided in advance at a still block decision circuit 1, and it is decided whether or not it is a still block. Next, at a background data extraction circuit 2, a signal included in the still block is extracted as the background data out of respective image element in each frame. At a background image generation circuit 3, the background value of respective image element is decided from extracted background data, then, the background image is generated. At the time of deciding the background value of respective image element, only the background data extracted from the block recognized as the one representing background judging from the whole of a series of images out of the blocks decided as the still block at the circuit 1 is used.</p> |
