PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cause an energy ray to be surely incident into a phosphor, improve the luminescent efficiency in the visible range, and provide a phosphor material which can maintain contrast on a display screen. SOLUTION: A light absorber 102 is caused to be present concentratively inside a phosphor 101 constituting a phosphor material 100, thus making sure the penetration of ultraviolet rays into the phosphor 101 and simultaneously causing the light absorber 102 to absorb unnecessary external light. Thus, the luminescent efficiency of the phosphor material 100 is enhanced and a plasma display apparatus excellent in contrast is obtd. |
