The blade holder (8), designed to rotate about a shaft situated above it, has at least two supports (16, 16') to carry blades and having upper sections (38, 38') forming active zones (55, 55') which transport the cut crop. Each of the upper sections has a convex upper surface (56, 56'). Each blade holder consists of a first section (20) for joining it to a shaft and a second section which is basically oval or elliptical in shape and equipped with a support (16, 16').
