A premix of volatile corrosion inhibitors and low melting solid or pasty matrix materials with a melting point of 40 - 110 deg C. Composition or premix based on volatile corrosion inhibitors (I) with an effective amount of at least one solid or pasty matrix substance (II) having a melting point of 40 - 110 (50 - 90) deg C to reduce liberation of the (I) during preparation of the premix to a minimum.
