FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: described are fluorinated thermoplastic polyesters having block structure [Z-R<SB>f</SB>-Z-H<SB>1</SB>-H<SB>2</SB>-H<SB>1</SB>-]- wherein R<SB>f</SB> is perfluoropolyoxyalkylene unit of formula: -CF<SB>2</SB>O-(CF<SB>2</SB>CF<SB>2</SB>O)<SB>m</SB>-(CF<SB>2</SB>O)<SB>n</SB>-CF<SB>2</SB> wherein m and n are such integers that m/n ratio is within 0.2 and 5; Z is radical of general formula: CH<SB>2</SB>O-(OCH<SB>2</SB>CH<SB>2</SB>)S- wherein S is 0-3; -H<SB>1</SB> is arylene and -H<SB>2</SB> is arylene or alkylarylene, R<SB>F</SB>,M<SB>1</SB> and H<SB>2</SB> being units bonded to each other through ester groups; said polyesters have tensile strength at 230 C by ASTM D- 412-D method by at 50% least higher than that of corresponding polyesters derived from perfluoropolyoxyalkylenediols functionality of which is not higher than 1.96. Described is method of preparing said polyesters.
