<p>An electronic system, such as an alarm system, comprises a control device (1) and a plurality of peripheral devices (3, 4, 5) connected to the control device, wherein each peripheral device is provided with a unique electronic code (7) whereby, upon installation of the device, the electronic code is provided from the peripheral device to the control device to identify the peripheral device. The electronic code is also physically marked upon the peripheral device so as to be viewable by an installer.</p> |
