One-touch video freeze arrangement for use with television receivers

The arrangement has a remote controller (22) with a keyboard for transmitting control signals to a television or TV receiver. An image-in-image or III device (20) has an III input for developing an III display from an III signal as an auxiliary image to the main image shown by the receiver. The activation and de-activation of the III device and the size and position of the III display are controlled by activating the corresp. keys on the remote controller keyboard. When a special key (25) is operated an instantaneous acquisition device responds by activating the III device with its maximum display size. Whereby the main display signal is temporarily switched over to the III input and the III display is frozen. An Independent claim is also included for a method of operating a TV receiver.
