The device has three pairs of slideways, one (3) of which moves in a straight line, and a second (11,12) of which translates this into a movement at right angles to the first for a table mounted on the third pair. The second slideway is set at an angle (14) to the first. Preferably, the angle between the first and second pairs of slideways is one whose tangent is a whole number quotient.
