METHOD FOR CONTINUOUS PRODUCTION OF A PLASTIC PLATE-SHAPED ARTICLE

Initially, a first mixture of raw materials and rubber is expanded and calendered in order to produce a thermally insulating plate-shaped article made of expanded elastomer cellular rubber. At the same time, a second mixture of raw materials is extruded and calendered. The material strips thus obtained have different ranges of properties and their surfaces are pressed together. The two material strips whose surfaces are joined together by means of interpenetrating chains of molecules in the micro range are first supplied with heat for initial vulcanisation in order to produce a resistant composite strip for containment of the gases that are formed in a subsequent expansion. The composite strip is then supplied with further heat so that vulcanisation can continue in order to produce a strong surface bond by means of chemical cross-linking and to produce expansion by means of foaming agents in order to obtain a combined product made of expanded elastomer cellular rubber for further processing into said plate-shaped article.
