The invention relates to a power supply unit comprising an internal combustion engine (1) which drives an a.c. generator or three-phase generator (2). The output voltage of said generator supplies stabilized voltages to various consumers (V1, V2, V3) and optionally to an accumulator (7) via a converter (K) which contains a transformer (4) and a rectifier (5) on the output side. The invention is characterized in that the converter (K) contains a transductor (3) on the input side whose output voltage is constantly regulated and supplies current to the transformer (4).
