The present invention relates to a clip for holding at least one sheet of material such as a piece of paper or the like, comprising a first and a second sheet part (5, 7; 57, 59), each of said first and second sheet parts including a base portion having an inner portion intended to lie against said sheet while in use, and an outer portion opposite to said inner portion, wherein said first and second parts (5, 7; 57, 59) are joined together by a substantially straight hinge means (9; 53; 63) having peripheral ends (17, 20). According to the invention, each of said first and second sheet parts (5, 7; 57, 59) being provided with a locking edge (13, 15; 73, 77), which extends substantially perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis of said hinge means (9; 53, 55; 63) and which locking edges (13, 15; 73, 77) are situated at the same end of said hinge means (9; 53, 55; 63), wherein said locking edges (13, 15; 73, 77) have mutually co-operating locking means (19, 21; 71; 75), and wherein said first and second parts (5, 7; 57, 59) are rotatable around the longitudinal axis of said hinge (9; 53, 55; 63) to bring said locking means (19, 21; 71, 75) into locking contact, said locking contact being releasable.
