The appts. to measure and/or set cutting tools has a housing with a conical holding spindle on roller bearings to take a rotating cutting tool. The holding spindle has at least two coaxial roller bearings (44,46) of different dais. with an axial gap between them in the housing. Their inner dias. define a common inner cone. Their inner rings (48,50) are chamfered at least partially to match the conical surfaces. A spacer sleeve (56) is between the two roller bearings (44,46).
