The scoop comprises a fixed scoop part (1) and a movable scoop part (2) which presses onto the fixed scoop to secure the loose items against blowing away, etc. A control mechanism is used to close the scoop, and may be operated using a spring action. The scoop can be operated single-handed. It has optional rubber lips at tip ends.
