A circuit design for a voltage supply for a pulse-drive load (V), such as an amplifier, includes an inductance (L) connected on the input-side to a DC voltage source and on its output side to the input of a first part-element of the circuit connected on its output side to the input of a second part-element of the circuit, which includes a series-connected diode (D) and first capacitor (CL), with a first switch (S1) connected across the diode capacitor series-circuit. The second circuit part-element includes a second capacitor (CH) with a second switch (S2) connected across it. The first switch (S1) controls the voltage supplied to the load (V) at the tapping point (AP) between the diode (D) and the first capacitor (CL), and the second switch (S2) is only open when the load is switched on.
