<p>Electroluminescent polymers and copolymers of triptycene structure are new. The polymers are conjugated polymers containing: (a) 1-100 mol.% of at least one repeating unit WE1 of formula B-Tr-A- (I); and (b) 0-99 mol.% of at least one repeating unit WE2 of formula (VIII). Tr = triptycenyl residue of formulae (II), (III) or (IV); A,B = single bonds, H, optionally branched 1-22 C alkyl or alkyloxy, 6-10C aryl or aryloxy, 3-10 C heteroaryl, COOR, SO3R, CN, halogen, NO2, amino, alkylamino, or dialkylamino substituted vinyl, ethinyl, arylene, of formula (V); R<1>-R<16> = H, linear or branched 1-22 C alkyl or alkoxy, in which one or more nonadjacent CH2 groups can be substituted by -O-, -S-, -COO-, -CO-, amino, or amide, one or more H atoms can be substituted by F; 6-10 aryl or aryloxy, COOR, SO3R, CN, halogen, or NO2; G, L, and if necessary G<1>, L<1> = CR<17>, N, P, or As; R<17> = H, 1-22 C alkyl or alkyloxy, 6-20 C alkyl, halogen, or CN; R<18>-R<21> = as for R<1>-R<16> or heteroaryl of formula (VI); X,Y = N, CR<22>, Z = O, S, NR<23>CR<25>, CR<26>6 = CR<27> or CR<28>, where R<22>-R<28> = R<1>-R<16> or spirofluorenyl of formula (VII); R<29>-R<29> = R<1>-R<16>; R<33>-R<36> = as for R<1>-R<16>, or of formula (IX); and D = a single bond with 1-22 C alkyl or alkyloxy, 6-10 C aryl, 3-10 C aryl or aryloxy, 3-20 C heteroaryl, COOR, R, CN, halogen, NO2, amino, alkylamino, or dialkylamino substituted by vinyl, or ethinyl. Independent claims are included for: (1) an electroluminescent material containing the polymer; (2) a method for obtaining the eletroluminescent material; and (3) an electroluminescent apparatus with one or more active layers, at least one of which contains the above polymer.</p> |
