The invention concerns a pressure regulator for an intubation catheter, a tracheotomy tube or the like comprising a main conduit equipped with a sealing ring-shaped balloon inflatable through a secondary conduit provided with an inflating valve. It further comprises a disposable container (11) defining a chamber with variable volume having at least one first orifice (31) connected or capable of being connected to the instrument secondary conduit, such that, when it is being used, the chamber with the pressure regulator (10) variable volume and the instrument sealing balloon communicate, and pressure means (12) for exerting a substantially constant, but adjustable, force on one container (11) wall (13a) to regulate the pressure of the air contained in said chamber with variable volume and, consequently, the pressure of the air contained in the sealing balloon.
