A serine protease (A) from human prostate with a sequence of 231 amino acids given in the specification is new. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a nucleic acid sequence (I) encoding (A); (2) a recombinant nucleic acid, containing (I) linked to at least one genetic regulatory element; (3) a host organism transformed with (I) or a recombinant nucleic acid as in (2); (4) an antibody against (A); (5) a method to identify specific inhibitors of (A); (6) a method to find substances which bind to (A); and (7) methods to qualitatively and quantitatively detect (I) or (A) in a biological sample. |
