The device comprises a base (4) and a connector for accepting the tubing movingly mounted on the base. The connector is coupled to the base by a flexible coupling (5) comprising a plurality of substantially rigid joining members (1), e.g. part spherical plastics members. The connector has equal size openings (9) or two sets of different size for adult and child ventilation tubes. A universal joint (6) enables the connector to be moved away from a bed when not used.
